IF HOPE DIES LYRICS

1. Burned Out

Hard times need avoiding a method of escape retreat into your own mind torn asunder by decay scorched synapses lose their function embrace the chemical haze dissent is no longer an option when your motivation melts away killing yourself with a smile on your face devastating your awareness with every breath that you take far past the point of caring far past the point of escape resistance no longer an option this is what tradition dictates with all the forces at work laying claim to our lives we readily sacrifice what little is left to take

2. Anthem For The Unemployable

This is what we are this is what we've become semi-conscious parts of a highly refined system we are the wires part of this great machine programmed for other's purpose harnessed for others greed your free time is no longer free spend each moment trying to make ends meet this world moves too fast to stay ahead forever falling behind until we're dead our lives are worth more than mere numbers we must demand more for our contributions object to living in quiet desperation this is a call for change and rebellion this is a system in need of some disruption

3. Dead Reckoning

Shambling like a walking corpse living, but not quite alive you return again and again to the sites once occupied in life you're just a ghost you're just a ghost of the past you are condemned condemned to repeat your actions you're just a shadow that leaves no trace trapped in an endless pattern conditioned to accept your fate your mind is dulled your body propelled forward you're held in thrall to perform the bidding of your masters the body moves but the heart no longer beats cold as the deepest ocean, blood freezes in your veins trapped inside a failing body you are a mindless slave all feeling has been forgotten it's all rotten away someone's pulling at your strings so pull back you aren't holding your own reins so break them

4. Time Is Not On Our Side

Waiting for the moment when you can come alive you fail to notice when life threatens to pass you by days disappear all at once, in the blink of an eye inaction is a sickness that's diagnosis is terminal you must understand that the cure along with the cancer exists within yourself wasted lives built from wasted time passion destroyed by inertia time is our enemy it waits for no one why can't you see that this will be the only chance you'll ever have? when you look back will you be able to say that what you wanted is just what you did?

5. Fear Will Keep Them In Line

A desperate panic penetrates your mind the images of mass destruction are threatening your way of life try to lock the world out but you're still living in it the only separation is mere inches thick televised propaganda lights each nerve on fire a conspiracy of fear to leave you paralyzed masses roam drunk on murder they want what you have earned remain quiet and keep your head down in this state of emergency fear rules your existence follow the stampede of victims join the herd of alarmist drones no one needs to oppress you when your prison is your home

6. Water Into Wine Cooler

Countless faces turned skyward hands clasped together waiting for a sign from above the answers to all our problems what makes you think that there's someone listening? speaking on a one-way line that's connection isn't functioning no one can hear you and your words are being wasted find the strength within yourself the power to affect your situation no one is listening to your words you're the only one who can save yourself salvation comes from within you've prayed a thousand times how many miracles have you witnessed lain prostrate all your life begging for attention your words have fallen on deaf ears you've been betrayed by your faith you've been misled into thinking that this life doesn't matter don't give up on this life for the next

7. The Ultimate Nullifier

Bear witness to the destruction the perversion of life replacement of the natural with mechanical precision the way that man has chosen is the path of dominance instead of coexistence he exerts control over life we empty out the land and sea transform life into machinery take apart our foundation to build our towers ever higher this is a course we can't sustain failure is programmed into our plan the more we take, the less we give the further we fall to towards failure the failure of man is displayed in our actions the death of compassion turns us into monsters subvert the laws of nature it's all become a process we've come to rely upon our factories of death now we take what is easy and ignore what is right we're being consumed by shadows from our darkest hearts we cause so much harm and do so little good the longer we travel down this path the harder it is to defend our existence the failure of man is the burden we all share we've all had a hand in the execution of this plan

8. Marked For Death

Living on borrowed time we've made a mess of everything forsaken simpler times for increased complexity in such a short amount of time we've managed to ruin everything despoilers of the land, humans have made it unlivable support systems for all life poisoned by our selfishness we know it isn't right but still we continue on and on the final human tragedy is death brought on by stupidity this isn't the end of the world, no doomsday hysteria this is the end of our kind this world will outlive our existence our actions speak volumes about our lack of values seen through the eyes of time our passing will make no difference it's in our own self interest to abandon the course we're following

9. Some Skynard

This stale air is draining the life right out of us transfixed, immobile paralyzed by indecision a small glimpse, a vision of heights much greater than these somewhere, within us a desire for so much more keep on fighting keep on pushing forward we must somehow find the way keep on struggling keep on wanting more don't let this world tear you down far too often we find our voices swallowed by silence condemned to watching as time slips through our hands the time for hesitation has now come and gone the longer we stand still the further away our dreams become a change is coming born out of dissatisfaction with the hand that we've been dealt the restless many now filled with anger are demanding for release from this static hell

10. Nuked From Orbit

We've placed a limit on our vision that blinds us to our future we can't see past the present to where our actions take us this is a game that's played for keeps no taking back what's said or done we have to understand that there's more than the here and now we're all connected in this life actions have consequences that echo through the ages a ripple made in water that turns into a wave somewhere down the line this will come back to haunt us and time will remain indifferent to our regrets know that what we do truly matters, our decisions don't only affect us every action has it's reaction think about the legacy you're creating this is a game that's played for keeps no taking back what's said or done we'll be buried below the weight of our mistakes

11. Life In Ruin

Wandering this blasted landscape that we once called our home lost amid the ash and wreckage, we wonder how this came to pass it's been a long time coming the hour of man's descent from our lofty seat of power to it's conclusion in cement this is the consequence of an administration of arrogance ages without intervention and success before our governance the cracks have grown into fissures oversights exposed as deadly errors now it's so easy to see where we went wrong we've worked hard at untying the knots that hold it all in place the balance all too fragile that allowed for our mistakes the facade of control has worn away it shows what we've suspected that we have lost our way this is an object lesson of a life in ruin
