ARTIFICIAL BRAIN LYRICS

1. Artificial Brain

Most of it's made of metal but the flesh still remembers
The hormones, they echo
It's lost half its body in battle
Its torso I've welded, its lungs they still rattle
Perverting pre-factory settings
Combining surgery with map-making mainframe, I've made it a monster
I've reprogrammed all its inhibitive instructions, no wrong and no right
It levitates below the lofty grave as I'm hidden from sight
Its scanners once set for parasites
Now tracking all forms of life (sharp as a knife)
Their skin we stretch tight, a map to the night
Extract the lens from their eyes
A living scope that writhes
The cysts and the scars
They could navigate through the stars
Like a surgeon when it carves
It transfuses its flesh with their blood or it starves
Disposing of the bodies
Incineration projected through atmosphere
Oaths of my science
Abandoned with my past, but I still can hear their gasps for air
What have I done?

2. Glitch Cannon

Rusted robotic arms flailing wild
Unknowing in a way unlike a child
Exploring aimlessly the vast terrain
Haphazard, haywired artificial brain
Organic compounds rotting away
Unabsorbed shocks in its gait make it sway
For vast stretches of uninterrupted wilderness
It wanders from the radars range
Dragging pieces of itself
Anchored and inlay to a shell
Warped by weapons which worked so well
The vibration of a giant, eclipsing bell
Transmissions replaying forever the failure - captured catastrophe
Assembled in legion, an army of machines - it crushed almost all
Relive the sound of a million pounds of metal
Mixed by its molecules all at once

3. Celestial Cyst

Descendants of the last surviving humans
Grown now having never known the world that's gone
A scar they all must wear upon their face
A map to a constellation out in space
Carved with an arrow down to the marrow
Ancient maps from the sky
When the world was destroyed
The stars came back into their vision, giving them wisdom
From the sky, the story of their past
Tanning maps from melanomas
Learning to tell their place in space and time
A compass, marination of an ancient rhyme
A key to patterns lost on modern minds
A guide to the origin of our insides
(Celestial Cyst)
(Celestial Cyst)
Cloaked within my lofty device, deliberately I've misled them
Like a god controlling the path, the blood on my hands makes a vision
(Celestial Cyst)
(Celestial Cyst)
My madness leaves me barren
Barren - a frozen hole inside my brain
A cancer that eats away until I'm insane
The thoughts that torture me I keep within
The truth, I tortured them just on a whim
A man, like them I breathe and bleed and die
A lie - I used machines to give it life
It's gone too far to look behind
Manipulating remaining minds
I'm blind from the hate built up in time
A sign I create in stars that shine
Illusion of the kind, I'm compelled to complete the lofty shrine
It's lined with long frame panels that look like spines
The world is gone, it's not a crime

4. A Lofty Grave

My bunker above the sky, it keeps me safe
At night my brain remembers it's a lofty grave
Sending, sending signals to my inner mind
Losing, losing my grip on my perception of time
Captive, captive in a trap of my own design
My bunker above the sky - I lived, but why?
Yearning, yearning to hear a voice beyond my own
In vain I continue to transmit the static (it shatters...)
The static, it shatters
Encrypted, only understood by ghosts
In a tomb, above trees, beyond seas
I saw the ore of machines melted down in an instant
Organic compounds of cyborgs turned to steam
Is this a dream?

5. Tome of the Exiled Engineer

Spinning, white hot like a dragon wheel
It blinds my inner eye
The labyrinth, I carved into their face
I looked into their eyes and cried
Paralyzed in stasis with no basic comprehension that they'll die
They'll never tell another lie
My colleagues laughed behind my back
And so I dropped them from mid-flight
I tossed their corpses from the sky
Bodies like bombs, bursting on impact
A crater of fertilizer
Their lab coats like tapestries flailing in the wind
Until they blend in with the snow below
Alone, unhindered
Finally I can collect my thoughts
What this spaceship is designed for
Cloaking from radar
Now I can experiment on planets from afar
From the stars
We were the only ones
Who survived the volcanic blast
Our ship made it through
But our time has passed
Now I wander the lab by myself, reflecting on our work
Their tissue samples on the shelves
It was I who took them first
The androids equipped with bombs
We stole organic basics from clones of explorers who went vacant
Now only I have access to control their directives

6. Embalmed with Magma

A world embalmed with magma steams from cracks to its core
Erupted in absence of reason, though rumored to have been from war
Objective to all sides, no stake in the fight
Equalizing across the board, nature breaks down the sword
Burning as it moves in time to the music of geography
The lava moving forward like a march led by gravity
Suffocated in glowing globules
Pressurized vapors scream for passage
As the creaking sediment groans
A wasteland, the wager of uninterrupted war
It swallowed the sentinels and reduced them to ore
For some - salvation fulfilling religious lore
In reality, volcanic blasts trigger nuclear fallout
Eclipsing the sky, taking solar power out
Clouding radars, blocking signals, destroying transport routes
Organic parts of cyborgs were poisoned by the clouds

7. Parasite Signal

They say that nothing can get through these panels
But I've seen it for myself
Amber, crystallic glowing globules
They board the ships unfelt
A scanning panel hovers at your hand
And to your feet it falls
It's blinking red and to your horror
They seal off all the doors
They say that there's something dripping
Into the storage bay
An obstinate odor outranking even the sanitation spray
Humid in this heavy suit, I lift my helmet for a second
My sweat begins to feel like it's ooze
A sign I've been infected
A dreamy mirage in my mind
Gushing with memories, I remember my times
It's stewing my intestines
The pain amplified as it speaks in my mind
My screams turn to gurgles
As I fade in and out of this life
I failed to warn the others, parasitic fluid has flooded the pipes

8. Cryogenic Dreamworld

When I look at the world, it's been so long dead
I long for the memories at the bottom of my head
Scraped over time, replayed in my mind
Skipping over beats, my life's incomplete
The goggles give peace behind my eyes
Vicarious visions
Blinking every night into a cryogenic dreamworld of my design
Slipping away from the wires, lights and gauges
From the isolation which resulted in my rages
Fluids rich in nutrients that flood my capsule
Monitors reflect my moves like they're actual
Synthesized inside
The stasis lasts for years until I'm bored of dreams
All is emptiness, or so it seems
A throbbing black hole
Lustful madness - butchering in the corners of the cosmos
Eating my brain, even though I'm not a giant

9. Insects and Android Eyes

False calm descends upon a junkyard, where once was a battle
The ghosts of a million machines marching
Chemicals and metals have stripped the ground barren
But elsewhere the plants overflow
The trees stretch to the clouds reaching for me
A mechanized architecture annihilating all it encountered
Until angered, a planet disgorged magma from its gut
Melting flesh to metal, now the ashes settle
A rotting mass of mutated materials
A molten stain attached to a frame
Wires strewn around, flailing in the wind
A random flame, bursting like propane
Corroded, ancient bomb - rusting in exposure
A giant exo-skull half buried in the ground
Insects nesting in its eyes, feeding off the mound
The evening air still smells of reeking sulfur
Forgetting failures, the world grows over
Unrelenting cycle, the rotating season is obstinate
The free flow of air precipitates pressures that push under continents
A wobbling sun, like milk, its light nurtures growth
The moon is steadfast, rotating the tides of sweeping shores
All cells evolve, adding to eventual sum
Nature is resolved to undo all that man has done

10. The Last Words of the Wobbling Sun

Grey has faded to black, the tides have taken in all they can
In mountains, my thunder still echoes
Patient embers burn, ancient as an oak tree
Listen now and learn, the last words it spoke to me
I have guided you across dead oceans
Beyond the labyrinth, back into the abyss - broken
Stagnant vapors burn, swelling up my nostrils
Now the sun, it churns - has it become hostile?
Barren and barely blinking, a deliberately silent signal
Incontinent, in constant flow of faulty headlight
Deep below among the shimmers in the distance
It's hard to see and I have no direction
Asleep in the pitch, the silent formless swallows us whole
Excrement to follow
All at cost, I'll carve its insides hollow
And take the loss, a bomb inside a bottle
The shards will turn to sand
Resetting termination codes feverishly
Rewiring self-destruct protocols to contaminate
Rinse my hands of this entire filthy project
When I escaped to my lofty grave, it was only for survival
Reflecting back, I see a man not fit to steer the ship
Not worthy of his title, unequal to his idols
